Orlando Science Center offers camp during Helene school closures

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Science Center announced that it will host a camp Thursday as schools across Central Florida are closed due to Hurricane Helene.

Th camp is for children in grades K–5 and the students “will participate in structured activities and visit exhibits – under guided supervision,” according to a news release.

Camp times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early care available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. for an additional fee.

Campers must be picked up by 4:15 p.m., organizers said.

The cost for non-members is $145 per child per day and $135 per child per day for members. Early care is an additional $10, according to the release.

A late fee of $2 per minute will be charged to any family whose campers remain past 4:15 p.m.
