SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Officials in Lake and Seminole counties issued a no-wake zone for roads still flooded 3 days after Hurricane Milton ripped through Florida.

As residents still work on clearing debris and navigating flooded streets, county officials posted on social media on Sunday warning motorists to not drive fast enough to create a wake with their vehicle.

“Please drive slowly,” the post read in part.

They also reminded residents that motorized boats are not safe to operate on flooded roads.

“If you need assistance to pass through flooded areas, first responders stand ready to assist with appropriate vehicles,” the post concluded.

Lake County officials also posted on social media, saying “A countywide No-Wake Zone is in effect. All vehicles - including those on roads - should travel at idle speed if they are within 100 feet of a shoreline for all waterbodies in the County.”
