National Physical Therapy Month: How to figure out what’s putting you at risk for a fall, what to do about it

Outpatient rehabilitation specialist joins Breakfast with Bridgett

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s National Physical Therapy Month, and this year’s theme is fall prevention.

Thursday morning on Breakfast With Bridgett, an outpatient rehabilitation specialist from Health First shared insight.

“After age of 30, we start to lose muscle mass. About 3-5% each decade and that can really make an impact over time. So I think it’s important to start doing some exercises early that way you want to preserve that muscle mass. One in 4 Americans fall every year over the age of 65 and that’s a lot of falls. And some things you can start doing early on before the fall,” she explained.
