FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Disaster assistance for income-eligible homeowners impacted by Hurricane Milton in Flagler County is now available, according to a news release.
Officials said that the funds are available through the State Housing Initiatives Partnership, or SHIP, and the Flagler County Housing Services.

According to the release, applications must be submitted during the “active disaster declaration period,” before the Dec. 6 deadline.

Available Assistance includes:
- Minor Home Repairs: Up to $10,000 for disaster-related repairs, paid directly to approved vendors
- Insurance Deductibles: Up to $5,000 for disaster-related insurance deductibles, paid directly to approved vendors

- Visit www.flaglercounty.gov/ship to apply online

- Once an application is submitted, staff will follow up to request necessary documentation
Officials said the program does not include assistance for recovering lost food.
“We are pleased this money is available to help Flagler County residents for the disaster damage they suffered during Hurricane Milton,” said Housing Program Manager Devrie Paradowski. “The stories of the damages to people’s homes are heartbreaking. While we wish we had funding to cover other losses, like food, we sadly don’t.”
The income limits based on household size and maximum income are as follows:
- Household = 1, maximum income = $72,960
- Household = 2, maximum income = $83,400
- Household = 3, maximum income = $93,840
- Household = 4, maximum income = $104,280
- Household = 5, maximum income = $112,680
- Household = 6, maximum income = $120,960
- Household = 7, maximum income = $129,360
- Household = 8, maximum income = $137,640
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be the primary homeowner with a homestead exemption
- The home must be located in Flagler County
- Mobile or manufactured homes must have been built after 2007
- Household income must fall within the very low to moderate-income range
- The applicant must have a disaster-related insurance claim or documented home damage
- Assistance cannot duplicate other relief funds; applicants must disclose any disaster assistance already received
Program Guidelines
- All payments are made directly to vendors, in accordance with Flagler County Procurement Policies
- No reimbursement for expenses already incurred
- This program does not provide relocation assistance, temporary housing, or general financial aid
- Assistance is limited to the current disaster and cannot be applied to past events
- Documentation requirements: Income, assets, and identification verification for all household members (including roommates) will be required
- Proof of homeownership, insurance claim approval, and disaster-related damage will be needed
