WINDERMERE, Fla. – A Windermere woman is grappling with a wave of emotions after a burglary that left her family devastated.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, shared details about the alarming situation.
“We’re angry, we’re worried, you know? And we’re nervous,” she said.
The incident happened on Friday when she was out of town and her son was returning home.
When her son arrived, he made a shocking discovery.
“He had gone to eat and came back and found the house was ransacked,” she said.
Her son described the aftermath.
“My whole back door was smashed in,” he said.
Shattered glass littered the home, but the most heart-wrenching part was the theft of two beloved French bulldogs: Bohdi and Asher.
“We’re very emotional about the whole thing, you know, wanting to get them back. It has me sick to my stomach,” the woman said.
The burglary was caught on the family’s Ring camera.
After breaking in through the back, the suspects unlocked the front door.
They were seen on camera walking in the front door together.
Another video showed the suspects walk out one by one, each holding one of the French bulldogs.
The dogs belong to the woman’s sister, who is currently out of the country. They dogs were supposed to stay at her home until her sister returned.
“She’s devastated. You know, pets become a part of your family. Unfortunately, she was never able to have children. So, these are her children. It took them a long time to decide what they wanted, and now they finally got them, and they’re gone,” she said.
The son called the police to report the robbery, and officers found blood in the home and dusted for fingerprints. The woman, who once felt secure in her home, now feels differently.

“I’ve always called it my castle. This is my castle. This is my safety. This is my safe space,” she said.
The emotional toll has even led her to consider drastic changes.
“I’m really considering wanting to move,” she said.
Despite her concerns for her family’s safety, her main focus is on the missing dogs, pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
“The only thing I could hope is that whoever has them isn’t mistreating them. We just hope to be able to get them back. It’s all we want. We want them back,” she said.
She urges anyone with information about the stolen dogs to contact the police.
