Seminole County schools provide mental health help to students

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A new ranking by Niche has named Seminole County Public Schools as the top public school district in Florida.

According to SCPS, the 2025 rankings by Niche, a school ratings and reviews site, were based on a “rigorous analysis of key performance indicators including academic performance, graduation rates, teacher quality, college readiness, and student and parent reviews.”

The district was touted for its strong academic offerings, robust extracurricular programs and dedicated focus on preparing students for the future.

SCPS said the recognition highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovative programs and fostering student success.

“We are honored to be recognized as the top public school district in Florida by Niche,” said Serita D. Beamon, superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our educators, staff, students, and families. It reflects our collective commitment to providing a world-class education and fulfilling our mission to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be productive citizens.”

Other Central Florida public school districts that were ranked by Niche include Orange County at No. 16; Sumter at No. 17; and Flagler at No. 19.
