ORLANDO, Fla. – Accused gunman Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, 17, is being held in custody on two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm and at least six counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, Orlando police said Friday.
Social media video posted by OPD showed Edgar wearing handcuffs as officers escorted him from police headquarters to a waiting patrol car.
Authorities did not immediately confirm whether Edgar would be detained at the Orange Regional Juvenile Detention Center because he is 17-year-old.

Police said Edgar opened fire in downtown Orlando early Friday morning near two different intersections, killing two people and wounding seven. Another victim was trampled and injured, police said.
Few details about Edgar’s life are currently known.
Edgar was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in December for grand theft of a motor vehicle, records show. Deputies said they observed Edgar driving a car that had been previously been reported stolen from an apartment complex.
Edgar was taken to the Orange County Juvenile Assessment Center after his arrest, a report shows. The outcome of the criminal case is unknown since juvenile court records are confidential under Florida law.
Edgar attended elementary and middle school in Orange County Public Schools, but he did not attend high school in the OCPS district, school officials confirmed.
