MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An 86-year-old Marion County man was arrested on Thursday after being accused of using groceries as a ruse to sexually abuse children, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a release, deputies said they received a report from a child victim that on Oct. 24, the man — identified as Ramon Luis Figeroa — came by her house.

“Figeroa visited her home under the pretense of needing help with groceries from his vehicle,” the release reads. “As the victim assisted him, he began asking her inappropriate questions, recounting a story involving another child victim, and making crude statements.”
According to detectives, it was during this encounter that Figeroa grabbed the victim’s hips and kissed her, as well as asking whether she would “send him photos,” let him help her in the shower, or even watch her through her windows.

“The victim was unable to escape the situation,” the release states.
After receiving the report, detectives said they interviewed Figeroa at his home, and he initially denied the allegations until he was told that security cameras had captured parts of his interaction with the victim.
Figeroa was taken into custody on Thursday and faces a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior.
However, detectives said they believe there could be more victims, and the sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone who has information about similar encounters with Figeroa to call (352) 816-5473.
