At the time, the driver — a 64-year-old man from The Villages — is believed to have suffered a medical emergency, which prevented him from maintaining control of his vehicle, the FHP said.
As a result, the car went southwest off the road and crashed into a fence and a tree, according to troopers.
The driver later died at the hospital, the FHP said.
