Arrest made after man shot during ‘confrontation’ at Volusia County home, deputies say

Shooting happened in 1900 block of Linville Road in Ormond Beach area

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 36-year-old man was shot and injured during a “confrontation” with two other men at his home Monday night in the Ormond Beach area, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the shooting happened in the 1900 block of Linville Road around 7:42 p.m.

According to a news release, an initial investigation shows the man was shot when two other men showed up at the victim’s house to dispute a personal matter.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his abdomen and a grazing wound to his head, officials said. He is expected to survive, according to deputies.

On Wednesday, deputies announced that Anthony Pezza was arrested in Palatka on Volusia warrants for attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, firing into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Pezza was booked into the Putnam County Jail and was being held without bond.

Details about the second alleged culprit have not been released.
