MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office believe a man who was recently arrested, accused of drugging and sexually assaulting girls, may have more victims.

Antoine Marcel Scarpa, 36, presently faces charges of providing hallucinogens to a person under 18 and two counts of sexual assault against a 16- or 17-year-old victim, according to records. He was booked Friday and was released Saturday on a $40,000 bond pursuant to the sexual assault charges and a “Release on Recognizance” for the drugs charge, records show.

While investigating Scarpa, a detective uncovered a Facebook group in which several woman claimed Scarpa victimized them while they were minors, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday on social media.

The victims alleged that Scarpa would message girls on social media before providing them with drugs and sexually assaulting them, according to the post.

Those who may have been victimized by Scarpa, or those who may know someone who has been victimized, are urged to contact Detective Hartigan at 352-369-6841, the post states.
