ORLANDO, Fla. – Holiday travel is in full swing at Orlando International Airport.
Over 2 million people are expected to pass through the airport during the Thanksgiving holiday travel stretch.
Jahmaisha Green flew in from Dallas on Wednesday and told News 6 she got to the airport four hours before her flight.
“I was expecting delays. That’s why I got there early. That way, we can accommodate changes and stuff,” she said.
This time last year, parking issues at the airport left some passengers frustrated. Since then, the airport has added about 2,000 spaces.

Artie Morgan was on his way out of Orlando and said he arrived and was quickly able to find a spot at one of the new surface lots in front of Terminal C.
“Plenty of parking,” he said. “It would be nice if the parking garages had more spaces, but it’s not a big deal for a few days.”
While parking and security wait times can cause delays, the FAA warned that a shortage of air traffic controllers could also impact flights. On Wednesday, flights to Newark, New Jersey, were delayed up to 95 minutes because of the shortage of controllers.
John Kosar and his family made their way to Orlando from New Jersey and said it was a surprisingly good experience.
“Honestly, it was probably the smoothest flight up and back I’ve had in a good while. We had minimal delays. We actually came in a little bit early, like ahead of schedule,” he said.
