KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A death investigation got underway Thursday after a man’s body was found in a Kissimmee canal, according to police.

A passerby called 911 after finding the body in the area of N. Emory Avenue and MLK Jr. Boulevard, the Kissimmee Police Department confirmed to News 6, adding the man’s death was being investigated as suspicious.

The Kissimmee Police Department on Monday requested the public’s assistance with the homicide investigation.

“Detectives are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on the evening of Nov. 27, leading up to the 911 call, to contact the Kissimmee Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 407-846-3333,” KPD said in a statement.

Anyone wanting to remain anonymous may report information through Crimeline by calling 800-423-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest or resolution of the case.
