ORLANDO, Fla. – News 6 is highlighting must-see homes in the Central Florida area that have over-the-top holidays light displays.

Our first stop is at Todd O’Neal’s home located at 9800 Old Patina Way in the Lake Nona neighborhood called the “Lake Nona Lights.”

The impressive lighting display is choreographed to music, such classics as “Jingle Bells” and “Feliz Navidad,” among many others. The music is uptempo to work better with the flashing lights as they dance around the yard and the home.

O’Neil said that his friend and coworker Randy Tennison showed him a similar lighting display one day and the two decided to make it happen right here in Central Florida. Tennison got to work programming the music and coordinating it with the lights while O’Neal set up the lights.

This year marks the 13th year the two have curated the dazzling display.

“We start planning earlier in the year to see if there’s new songs or new things to add,” O’Neil said. “And we just kind of work on it throughout the year.”

O’Neal even shared a time-lapse video of himself installing the more than lights 15,000 lights a few years ago.

Photos don’t do the display justice – you have to see it yourself. The lights move and dance to the music in a way that cannot be captured in a still image.

O’Neal said they even have an FM transmitter if you’d like to watch from your vehicle. They even set up chairs across the street for people to take in the show that way. Holidays and weekends tend to be the busier days, he said.

“Lake Nona lights has become a holiday tradition for a lot of neighbors. They come over, they bring the family after Thanksgiving dinner to see the lights,” O’Neal said.
