GOLDENROD, Fla. – A small business that’s been open for 30 years suffered a major loss over the weekend.

After a fire broke out Saturday morning, T-Square Woodworking lost the Orange County building where its been for decades.

“It’s a nightmare is what it is,” said Randy Turbin, owner of T-Square Woodworking. “It’s a nightmare. I never would have expected something like this to happen.”

Turbin said he got the call at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. He said flames were still coming out of the building when he arrived.

“I just couldn’t believe it was my building, you know,” Turbin said. “I mean I couldn’t believe it. We’re so careful about things. We shut power at night, we check everything we make sure everything is good.”

Turbin said the loss is almost too much,

“You have to handle it,” Turbin said. “So I wait until I’m home late at night when I let it get to me a little bit.”

But, rather than throwing in the towel, Turbin continues to press forward. Turbin and his crew already set up a temporary workshop to be able to fulfill their customer’s orders.

“My guys are so loyal, and if I shut down, what do they do?” Turbin said. “It’s the holidays, they’ve known me for a long time, everybody needs to eat. So for me, if I shut down that’s one thing, I can survive, you know what I mean, for the time being. So we keep everybody working and that’s it, the business continues.”

Turbin plans to rebuild in the same location and said T-Square will still be the same business that people have come to know and love.

“The quality will still be the same because I oversee everything we do and my team is really good,” Turbin said. “I have faith in my guys as they have in me, so I will keep them employed and we’ll keep on doing what we do.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support Turbin’s business. If you’d like to contribute, click here.
