Toast to victory: Pop-Tarts Bowl, GE appliances unveil trophy with built-in toaster

No. 13 Hurricanes will meet No. 18 Cyclones on Dec. 28

WINTER PARK, Fla. – After a memorable post-game celebration last year, Pop-Tarts is upping its game for the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando.

Alongside its partner GE Appliances, Pop-Tarts unwrapped its big trophy reveal in Winter Park ahead of the Dec. 28 matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Instead of celebrating with your average piece of hardware, the winning team will get to “toast” to victory with the trophy that’s also a working toaster.

Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan and Miami Athletic Director Dan Radakovich had the honor of unwrapping the trophy, which was packaged in a Pop-Tarts signature silver wrapper.

The brand made headlines last year in the Pop-Tarts Bowl for its creative and unconventional in-game activations, including the first-ever edible mascot. After Kansas State’s victory, a frosted strawberry Pop-Tarts mascot was lowered into a giant toaster, and then a giant edible version slid out and was eaten by players.

“Our fans have made it clear: The Pop-Tarts Bowl isn’t just another game, it’s an experience,” Pop-Tarts Bowl CEO Steve Hogan said. “We listened, and with the help of GE Appliances, we’re delivering a trophy that doesn’t just sit on a trophy stand. We’re excited to share this fusion of fun and functionality with college football fans everywhere.”

This year’s Pop-Tarts Bowl kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Camping World Stadium.

No. 13 Miami (10-2, 6-2 ACC) makes a seventh appearance in the game while No. 18 Iowa State (10-3, 7-2 Big 12) makes its third showing at the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
