PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A 24-year-old armed fugitive was arrested after the Volusia Sheriff’s Office says he turned himself in.
Over the weekend, a statewide alert was issued for Christian Brown, who was wanted on several charges related to two domestic incidents.

Both Daytona Beach and Port Orange police assisted in locating the suspect, but according to the sheriff’s office, it was Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood who ultimately convinced Brown to surrender at an address in Port Orange.

Body-cam video shows deputies taking Brown into custody without incident while Chitwood consulted the suspect.
Brown was booked on the following charges:
- Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony
- False Imprisonment
- Domestic Battery by Strangulation
- Criminal Mischief
