MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 43-year-old man was killed early Friday when his motorcycle crashed into a concrete mailbox and fence in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on SE 183rd Avenue Road near SE 26th Street.

According to a crash report, the man was traveling north on SE 183rd Avenue Road when the motorcycle went off the roadway and hit the mailbox and fence.
The motorcyclist, a Silver Springs man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said the man was not wearing a helmet.
