TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – If you sustained losses from hurricanes Helene or Milton, your deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is quickly approaching.
Homeowners and renters have until Tuesday to submit their applications, FEMA officials said.

There are several ways to register, according to a news release:
- Residents can visit any Disaster Recovery Center to register.
- You can text DRC along with your Zip Code to 43362 to find the closest DRC.
- According to FEMA’s website, the following DRCs are open in Central Florida:
- Lake County Ag Center located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares. Hours are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- Webster Community Center located at 49 SE 1st St. in Webster. Hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- Flagler County Governmental Services Complex located at 1769 E Moody Blvd. in Bunnell. Hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- Residents can also call FEMA at 800-621-3362. Lines are open every day and help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service, captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.
- In addition, you can apply at DisasterAssistance.gov or download and use the FEMA app.

According to the release, homeowners and renters who have already applied for assistance and disagree with FEMA’s decision can appeal within 60 days of the date of the decision letter.
