ORLANDO, Fla. – Wednesday on Breakfast With Bridgett, the Orlando Alumni Chapter Of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. shared details on their upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. events in the community.
King was a member of the organization which makes the local fraternity excited to honor and celebrate his legacy.
Thursday, the chapter will host a leadership forum at FAMU College Of Law. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. The panel will include a list of community advocates and experts.
“Come on out and be a part of the live discussion. It’s around bringing different perspectives and diverse perspectives to a conversation to address problems we have in the community and things we can do to move forward,” Lawrence Davis, a chapter member, said.
Friday the chapter’s hosting its 39th Annual MLK Commemorative Luncheon.
They will award over $30,000 in scholarships to local students and recognize several community groups with their Drum Major Award.
