ORLANDO, Fla. – As millions of Southern Californians are being impacted by the dangerous wildfires tearing through the state, Central Florida businesses are looking to help even if they are thousands of miles away.

On Tuesday, three companies based in Orlando announced the fundraising initiative, “from: Coast to: Coast.”

It is a series of T-shirts expressing the unity between California and Florida, designed by Orlando artist Veronica Steiner, according to a news release.

The shirts are $25 each and all proceeds from each shirt sale will be donated to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy California Wildfire Fund, the news release states. The CDP will use donated funds to provide access to food, support affordable housing programs and assist with rebuild efforts, per its website.

Mike Cho is one of the founders of Impress Ink, a T-shirt company off Goldenrod Road. He’s a part of the project and told News 6 the shirts are being printed on Wednesday.

He also said in a prepared statement that this is his way of extending support across the country.

The other business participating in the fundraising campaign is Freehand Goods, a unique gift shop inside East End Market and at College Park, which will offer a limited supply of these shirts at its two locations.

Tasty Chomps, a food blog, is also participating in this effort, as stated in a news release.

“As Floridians, we understand the impact of disasters all too well. We’ve been on the receiving end of generosity in the past, and it’s crucial we give back, especially now when California is in need,” Tasty Chomps Co-Founder Ricky Ly said in a prepared statement.
