OCALA, Fla. – A 62-year-old Ocala man who coaches youth sports and helps run a children’s sports and entertainment business has been arrested on another sex charge
Richard Hawkins, 62, was initially arrested in February in Marion County. He now faces another charge after another victim came forward, according to authorities.
In February, Ocala police said a 16-year-old boy reported an incident in which he stayed at Hawkins’ apartment and woke up to find himself in Hawkins’ bed in a compromising position. When the teen tried to leave the apartment, police say Hawkins’ tried to block the front door.
The victim told his father, who called Hawkins, according to police. The father told police that Hawkins admitted to the incident.
Hawkins was arrested on charges of indecent, lewd or lascivious touching of a minor, false imprisonment and open carry of a firearm.
Since that arrest, police said another victim came forward, and Hawkins faces an additional count of molesting a minor.
Police said that in addition to coaching youth sports, Hawkins is part-owner of an Ocala business that coordinates children’s entertainment and sports activities.
