OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – We’re now learning more about the three people killed in a crash on Highway 441 Sunday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed to News 6 that the victims in Sunday’s crash are 34-year-old Pragathi Reddy; 5-year-old Harveen Purumandla; and 54-year-old Sunitha Purumandla.
“It’s definitely emotional,” said FHP Public Information Officer, Migdalisis Garcia. “It’s especially something like this where a 5-year-old you know lost their life, it’s just a tragedy.”
Garcia said Highway 441 is a busy, highly traveled road that connects Central and South Florida.

According to a release from FHP, an F-150 was heading south in the northbound lane on Highway 441. The victims’ car was heading south, when the truck hit the front of their car, causing them to run off the road and roll over.
“There’s so many different factors that can cause a wrong-way crash,” Garcia said. “It can either be someone is distracted or they’re not from the area, and they just make the wrong turn. It can be impairment. It can be that they’re driving drowsy. There’s so many things that can cause anyone to drive the wrong way.”
The release from FHP goes on to say the driver of the truck, a 30-year-old man, was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
A 34-year-old man and a 9-month-old baby were also in the car with the victims. Troopers said both the man and baby were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
Troopers said it is too early in the investigation to determine whether or not speed or alcohol was a factor in this crash.
