ORLANDO, Fla. – In Monday’s Tourist Development Tax (TDT) Sports Incentive Committee meeting, Florida Citrus Sports detailed its proposal to host the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2027 NFL season at Camping World Stadium.
The organization is seeking funding to secure a minimum of eight home games while the Jaguars' EverBank Stadium undergoes renovations.

The proposal aims to ensure that Orlando is chosen as the temporary home for the Jaguars during the renovation period.
The economic impact of hosting the Jaguars was a key focus of the discussion. The representative estimated that each game could generate around $20 million for the local economy, with a total economic benefit potentially reaching $200 million for the season.
“I think these numbers are very conservative,” Hogan noted, emphasizing the positive effects on local businesses and tourism.
The proposal includes a request for a maximum of $11 million in funding, which breaks down to $10 million for hosting the eight games and an additional $1 million for potential playoff games. The speaker highlighted the importance of a fair approach that benefits both the Jaguars and the local community.
Committee members raised concerns about whether the Jaguars would practice in Orlando or remain based in Jacksonville. Hogan pointed out that while some team members might be present in Orlando, the team would likely continue to train at their home facility.
“They would view it as being on the road for the weekend,” he explained.
The conversation also touched on the competitive landscape, with the possibility of games being played in Gainesville or internationally. Hogan mentioned that there will be games played in Europe, but the league is still deciding if they will split their season between Gainesville and Orlando.
He told the committee that he hopes the Jaguars will commit fully to Orlando.
“That’s why I think we’re making the incentive fair enough to say ‘Just choose one,’” Hogan said. “This is enough incentive for you to say this is your destination when you’re not in Europe.”
Visit Orlando has also supported the initiative, emphasizing the city’s ability to attract significant events.
“Hosting these games would drive substantial economic benefits for local businesses,” the company said in a statement.
As the meeting concluded, the motion to support Florida Citrus Sports’ funding request was passed unanimously, reflecting the community’s eagerness to embrace this opportunity.
The decision on the Jaguars’ temporary home for the 2027 season is expected to be made in May, with anticipation building around the potential for Orlando to host NFL games.
