BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney World is gearing up for a big summer by debuting new shows, revamping attractions and rolling out new offers.
Park officials announced Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will undergo a refurbishment beginning in August.

The ride will close temporarily and will feature new blasters and a new animatronic at the beginning named ‘Buddy’ who will help train Space Rangers before they head out on their mission.

Star Cruisers will also get an upgrade with a new design inspired by the colors of Buzz Lightyear and star command.
The new handheld blasters will make it easier for you to score more points than ever and will help you know where you’re aiming with new sound, lighting and vibration effects.

There will also be new interactive targets that light up when hit.

Park officials also said both “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will debut on May 27, 2025, at Hollywood Studios.
“The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure” will feature “stunning set pieces, imaginative costumes, cutting-edge effects, skillful puppetry, and a bold new design aesthetic that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her,” Disney said.
There will also be two new musical numbers.
And as for “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” the show will take you along as the Magic Mirror tries to decide “who’s been the most unfairly treated.”
“The likes of Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent step into the spotlight to make their case about why they’ve been treated the most unfairly over the years,” Disney said.
Also set to make its summer debut, a nighttime parade. Disney Starlight will feature characters from “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Frozen” and more.
That’s not all Disney announced.
