Security guard returns fire after gunman injures 2 outside Orange County nightclub, deputies say

Deputies respond to Le Palace nightclub

ORLANDO, Fla. – Three people were injured early Wednesday after a shooting outside a nightclub in Orange County, the sheriff’s office said.

Around 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to Le Palace nightclub on South Orange Blossom Trail.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man in his 40s opened fire on two men in their 20s. A security guard on scene witnessed the shooting and returned fire, striking the suspect.

All three — the gunman and the two victims — were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second person who was with the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but was apprehended by deputies a short time later near the intersection of 37th Street and South Orange Blossom Trail, deputies said.

The investigation remains active.
