Shots fired outside Waffle House in Orange County

2nd victim may be linked to shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – A shooting outside a Waffle House in Orange County has prompted an investigation.

The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Hiawassee Road in Orlando.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, a deputy drove past the restaurant and noticed a large crowd in the parking lot. Moments later, gunshots were heard, shattering at least one window of the restaurant, deputies said.

One person showed up at a hospital a short time later, but it's not known what caused his or her injuries, officials said. The person is not cooperating with authorities, deputies said.

There's no description of the shooter.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man who had been shot several times showed up at a house on Harrington Drive a couple of miles away, deputies said. It's not known if the victim is connected to the Waffle House shooting.

Deputies said the victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery.
