Turning unsettled (Again) around Christmas

ORLANDO, Fla. – Santa may need to use his main reindeer and FREE Pinpoint Weather App on route to Central Florida this Christmas. While it will be about 30° degrees warmer this Christmas when compared to last year, rain chances are going up.

Here is the latest on the system we are pinpointing that will increase rain chances on or around Christmas.

Ever since the middle of November, it seems as if the rain switch has flipped into the on position. That is all because of El Nino. The systems that have impacted Florida the last two weekends were also born of the El Niño pattern. Christmas system? You guessed it. El Niño.

This pattern is expected to continue for the next several months.

Speaking of last weekend’s system that broke daily rainfall records across Central Florida, here’s why the storm didn’t get a name. Impact-wise, it looked similar to that of a tropical storm, but meteorologically, it was so much different.

Back to Christmas, as you are dodging showers the day after Christmas to maybe return gifts you don’t want, be aware that many retailers charge return fees. Our investigators looked into this.

Trooper Steve also provided some insight on staying safe during shopping season.

The Pinpoint Weather Team wishes you safe travels and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours! Thanks for reading and catch you next Thursday!
