Hopped on a plane ✈️

Hi, friends! It’s Brenda, back in your inbox for all the Central Florida Happenings.

I am back in the Sunshine State after a quick trip to see my bestie gal and eat some GOOD food. I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things about traveling is the FOOD (don’t worry, Thomas Mates. I’m not after your Florida Foodie newsletter).

But I’m serious. Just look at these wontons 🤤

The main thing I can’t stop thinking about is the spicy peanut sauce 😭 Like, I could have slurped it like soup, that’s how delicious it was.

If you have any food recs here in town that can satiate my craving (since we all can’t hop on a plane every weekend), please let me know.

Enough about that, here’s what’s happening this weekend ⤵️

Lunar New Year is around the corner, and you can check out lion dances and kung fu demonstrations this weekend!

The Lion Dance is a traditional dance performed during the Lunar New Year where performers mimic the movements of a lion.

“Essentially the new year ushers in a fresh start,” said Mimi Chan, teacher at the Wah Lum Temple. “The lion dance symbolizes good luck and prosperity, and also scares off negativity to bring in good luck for the new year.”
