I have some nostalgia for you...

I guess you can say this newsletter is a little reminiscent.

Thank you for opening my email, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

Last weekend, I had a little staycation at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and took the picture above. Have you ever visited or stayed there?

The hotel itself is a piece of art. Everywhere you look, there’s something impressive to see. It’s definitely one of the most gorgeous hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

It’s hard to believe it first opened in 1997. Speaking of the 90s, I had a chance to catch up with some actors who got their start around then.

😂 Marlon Wayans discusses new comedy special

Marlon Wayans recently brought his comedy tour to Orlando, but before that, he talked to me about his new special, “Good Grief” on Prime Video.

It’s a big hit on there. I had a chance to watch it. During the special, he discusses the recent passing of his parents and shares funny stories about them. I have to say, I have never watched a comedy special like his where I laughed and cried within the same minute.

See why he says he puts a lot of heart into his standup here.

🥧 25 years since ‘American Pie’

Can you believe it has been 25 years since the movie was released?

The movie came out in 1999, starring Jason Biggs. It led to three other movies. It is known to have several raunchy moments, including a part where Biggs’ character has a certain interaction with an apple pie.

Biggs was 19 years old when he filmed the movie. He shared his reaction with me when he first read the script and saw what he had to do.

Q, Murr, and Sal, the creators and stars of truTV’s Impractical Jokers are bringing their DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE Tour to Addition Financial Arena tonight! This isn’t just any comedy show, though, fans will be able to engage with the trio like never before.

Producer, Tiffany Browne, spoke to them about what you can expect here.

🎭 The Play That Goes Wrong

Osceola Arts is offering an Audio-Described performance and an American Sign Language-interpreted performance for "The Play that Goes Wrong." (Osceola Arts)

In this show, when things go wrong, it’s actually right.

“The Play That Goes Wrong” is running at Osceola Arts through June 30. It’s a play within a play, following the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society on their opening night of a new show.

As soon as the curtain rises, everything that could go wrong does, and the actors navigate forgotten lines, broken set pieces, and a number of missteps to make it to their final bows.

It sounds like a hilarious show! The director told me all about what to expect, and I included the link to tickets here.

👋 “Hello, Dolly!” starring Jodi Benson

Disney legend, Jodi Benson, known for playing Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” and other animated movies, will be playing Dolly Gallagher Levi in “Hello, Dolly!” at the Dr. Phillips Center tonight and tomorrow.

Tickets start at $29 and the proceeds go to Give Kids the World Village, a local nonprofit resort that provides critically ill kids and their families week-long wish vacations at no cost.

A heads up: the shows tonight and tomorrow night are already sold out, but there’s still some tickets for tomorrow afternoon. I posted everything you need to know here.

🎶 I like to go there in my sleep. 🎶

There are just so many good songs in “Les Misérables” and it’s coming to the Dr. Phillips Center next week! The musical is based in 19th-century France, some decades after the French Revolution, during an uprising known as the “June Rebellion.”

The show is known for its themes of broken dreams, unrequited love, sacrifice, and redemption. I had the chance to speak with Nick Cartell, who plays Jean Valjean. Check out what he had to say about starring in such an iconic musical.

Doesn’t this look cool? You can find the art display called ‘No Place Like Home,’ at the corner of East Pine and North Orange.

It will stay there at least through July. News 6′s Troy Campbell went there to find out the meaning behind the new installation. He sent me the picture I posted above.
