No, you’re not crazy

Hi, friends! It’s Brenda, back in your inbox for all the Central Florida Happenings.

No, it isn’t Thursday, when I typically send this lovely newsletter out. But I figured with the holiday, I could send this out a bit early (just kidding, my boss definitely told me to send this out today).

I didn’t do anything too crazy this past weekend (depends on who you ask), but I did get to see this beautiful double rainbow last week in the Milk District! All of my friends know I loooooove a beautiful sky and this one did not disappoint.

And there was something cool in the sky early this morning! Did you see it? It’s nicknamed “night-shining clouds.” Check it out here.

Now, let’s get into what’s happening ⤵️

(St. Johns River Festival of the Arts)

We’re well at that point in the year where you realize it’s literally the second half of 2024. At least I’ve realized, and I’m doing my best to come to terms with it.

Anyway!

There are some big festivals to keep on eye out for, such as the Space Coast Wing Battle, Greek fests, fall festivals and more.

And we made it very easy to keep track of. Click here for an outlook of all the big events to come for the rest of the year in Central Florida.

Fourth of July is HERE!! 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆

We’ll be out at Lake Eola for the annual Fireworks at the Fountain, tying it into our Hits The Road event for the 32801 ZIP code. Anchors, reporters, and News 6 Investigators will be hanging out near the Lake Eola House talking to viewers and passing out free swag.

If you don’t want to miss the show but don’t want to go out to Lake Eola, we’ll have a Choose Your View option, including Sky 6 above Lake Eola, on ClickOrlando.com.

We put together a county-by-county guide on what’s going on for the holiday, even after tomorrow.

Other happenings:

🎻 Immersive concert experience in downtown Orlando: A new immersive art and music experience is heading to downtown Orlando this August. The new “Wavelength” event by Creative City Project will debut at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts with two shows only on Saturday, Aug. 17. Here’s everything to know.

🧪 Science Sundays at the zoo: The Brevard Zoo is hosting a new series to help “beat the heat and learn something neat!” There will be hands-on activities and interactive exhibits about conservation and environmental science. Click here to check out the schedule.

🍺 Bands, Brews and BBQ returns to SeaWorld Orlando: The event runs eight consecutive weekends from July 6 through Aug. 25 and is included with regular park admission. The festival “encapsulates the summer experience,” according to the park’s website. Here’s what to know.

🌊 Summer bucket list: When people think of what to do around Central Florida in the summer, the first thing that often comes to mind are the signature theme parks Orlando has to offer. However, these are not only expensive, but they are also in the glaring sun and packed with crowds. Here’s what you can do this summer.

That’s all from me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I’ll catch you all next week.
