Unofficial end to summer? ☀️
Hey Insiders, it’s Chief Meteorologist Candace Campos here. If you know me, you would know that I was ready for fall back in June. And although this weekend is termed the “unofficial end to summer,” we will stay in this pattern for a bit longer.

I will be spending my Saturday morning in Lake Mary along the Hometown Parade route to celebrate our Little League World Series Champions. Are you planning on going or watching it?
Peak of hurricane season right around corner 🌀
Hi, y’all, meteorologist Michelle Morgan here talking about the tropics. As we wrap up the last few days of August (I know, that went by fast), we’re getting closer to the peak of hurricane season.
Even though September 10 marks the peak, hurricane season stretches until November 30, so there’s still plenty of time. The busiest stretch usually runs from August to early October, with September taking the lead.
So far, we’ve had five named storms, including three hurricanes, one of which was major. Click here to find out why mid-September is the peak of the season.
Mark Long, the ‘Godfather of Reality TV,’ makes his return
Hi everyone, meteorologist Julie Broughton here.
I recently spoke with Mark Long, often referred to as the “Godfather of reality TV.”
He starred in season one of MTV’s “Road Rules” in 1995 and is an early pioneer in the genre.
“Reality TV has come a long way since its inception, and being part of this journey from the beginning has been nothing short of incredible,” Long said. ‘Road Rules’ wasn’t just a show, it was a life-changing experience that continues to influence my life today.”
Long is now competing in the 40th season of “The Challenge: Battle of the Eras.” The season brings back cast members from different eras.
Long is the only person to have competed in four different decades of the show. Click here to read more.
