A Rainy Return ☔
Hey y’all, meteorologist Michelle Morgan here. I hope you had a great week. Most of us across central Florida got the chance to give our sprinklers a break! I know I did. We’ve been stuck under a rainy pattern all thanks to a stationary front. A ton of tropical moisture continues to blanket the area, causing very heavy rain to fall resulting in some flooding and flash flooding. We’re nearing the peak of hurricane season on September 10th, and the tropics are becoming more active.
The Pinpoint weather team is watching 5 tropical waves, but right now, there are no threats to central Florida.

The map is full of yellow on the NHC tropical outlook map. What’s going on, guys meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. Michelle mentioned about the waves we are watching, but none of them have a good shot at developing.
There are several reasons why and why the Atlantic hurricane season has been quiet relative to the very active forecasts. Remember, there is still a lot of the hurricane season left and it only takes one.
