🧙‍♀️A Trick-or-Treat weather brief 🍬

Happy Halloween! 👻 This year, afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 80s, which is not awful, but many would welcome the cooler fall weather conditions for trick-or-treaters and Halloween festivities.

Hi everyone, meteorologist Michelle Morgan here with a look at past Halloween forecasts. Believe it or not, even though this Halloween will be warm, Central Florida has experienced some chilly temperatures on this spooky day in the past.

Historically, Halloween weather has fluctuated significantly. In 2022, the temperature soared to a hot 90 degrees but was not record-breaking, with nighttime lows around 70. In contrast, 2021 saw a cooler 75 during the day, dropping to 59 at night, providing a refreshing change.

Take a look at the spooky forecasts through the past five years, we saw the warmest on record in Central Florida during that time frame.

🦋‘Tis the season for migrating monarchs and spirits 💀

Migrating Monarch butterflies are simply amazing to see, but to some, the arrival of these delicate flying beauties has a deeper meaning. Hey there Insiders, it’s meteorologist Samara Cokinos here with you.

Around this time of year, plumes of Monarchs migrate to Mexico for winter. Their arrival is welcomed and even celebrated by those honoring their departed loved ones by decorating alters in rich, vibrant colors and even having a meal with them as they would when they were alive.

The Monarch butterflies represent the souls of the departed returning to celebrate both life and death in a holiday known as Dia de los Muertos. Read more about how the butterflies find their way to the same exact spot each year and more by clicking here.


🌀Hurricane season not over yet

Ugh. What’s going on, guys? Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. On this Halloween, the National Hurricane Center now has three areas highlighted for possible tropical development.
