We are less than a week away from Thanksgiving and I have some ideas for you if you plan to have some family in town.
Hey, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on for the rest of November⤵
❤ An invisible red string that connects us all
That’s what a new show debuting at Fringe ArtSpace in downtown Orlando is about.
“The Red String” from Without Fear Theatre follows Nessa Reilly, as she tries to follow her dreams of being a writer. She takes off with her best friend, Sami, and the two go on an adventure that changes their lives forever.
The musical is a romantic comedy similar to the early 2000s rom coms. It features two LGBTQ women, their interwoven stories, and whether it is fate or their own actions that lead them to their happy ending. I spoke to the writer and director behind the show. See what inspired her and get tickets to the show. It wraps up this weekend.
🌨 “A Celtic Christmas” bringing the Irish holiday spirit to Orlando
The show features world Irish dance champions from the West End’s "Lord of the Dance" and “Riverdance,” as they join award-winning musicians.
The performance follows two star-crossed lovers, Oisín and Ava. They find themselves drawn together under the magical charm of a mistletoe. The romance turns into love faced with many challenges. It all ends with a Christmas ball, where the two reunite.
You can catch it this Tuesday at the Dr. Phillips Center.
🩰 “Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker” is back!
This is a great show to see the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Now in its 12th year as a trademarked production, the show features an array of performances by local talent from Central Florida and abroad, all woven into a holiday-themed story.
Anchor Bridgett Ellison spoke with the executive director behind the ballet on her livestreamed show, Breakfast with Bridgett. See their conversation and how you can catch the performance at the Dr. Phillips Center.
🎄 Let The Joy Of The Season Shine
Have you started decorating for the holidays yet? There’s one annual charity event that might give you some inspiration.
The Festival Of Trees presented by Council Of 101 and Orlando Health is back and celebrating its 38th year at the Orlando Museum Of Art.
You can expect to see decorated trees and wreaths, gingerbread displays and more. This year’s theme is Let The Joy Of The Season Shine. The Festival of Trees wraps up this Sunday.
🎹 Win tickets to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Don’t forget, you have a chance to win free tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Orlando’s Kia Center on Dec. 14.
Get behind-the-scenes info and enter to win free tickets. You do have to be a News 6 insider, which is free to join. The contest runs until this Sunday.
❄ You can also win free tickets to see ICE! at Gaylord Palms Resort
For the first time, the holiday tradition is featuring “Elf” in ice form. Dozens of artists carved nearly 2 million pounds of ice to bring the Christmas film to life.
The attraction takes you through Buddy the Elf’s journey from the North Pole to New York City. Some of the scenes highlighted are the Candy Cane Forest Scene, the mailroom, and the toy store.
Right now, you have a chance to win four free tickets. Again, you have to be a News 6 insider to enter. This contest runs until Black Friday, on Nov. 29. Click here to learn about the attraction that has become a Central Florida holiday staple.
