The Disney Treasure has so much to unpack, it needs two newsletters.

Hello shipmates, it’s Haley, the voice of In the Loop: Theme Park Scoops.

Ironically, it’s taken me a bit to get my sea legs after my content hunt on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship.

While the ship includes familiar offerings that you can find on other ships, two debuts had me buzzing with excitement.

Aboard the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the vibrant town of Santa Cecilia awakens at Plaza De Coco, the first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.” Miguel and his familia take guests on a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates treasured family memories and togetherness with a festive dinner menu that offers a modern twist on traditional Mexican fare. When it comes to theatrical dining, “Coco” is the perfect inspiration. After all, the film’s story centers around music and family.

Plaza de Coco is the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to the Pixar Animation Studios film. Guests will experience live music and special appearances by Miguel and other characters who continue the story of the Rivera family.

The dining experience includes Mexican cuisine and the theme surrounds Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

As someone who saw the film in the theater, I had a similar feeling of being enthralled by the colorful ambiance and the addition of flavorful cuisine this time.

My favorite moment of the night was taking a photo in front of the ofrenda. Properly decorated with marigolds with photos of the Rivera family, the altar celebrates and remembers ancestors.

With the Treasure being a seven-night itinerary cruise, guests can look forward to two distinct nights of Plaza de Coco.

The other theatrical first on board the Treasure is Disney The Tale of Moana.

How fitting that the Treasure be home to the first ever-stage adaptation of “Moana?” You can immerse yourself in a story about Disney’s ocean princess while sailing on the high seas.

Staying true to the story of a teenager being tasked with a daring ocean-voyaging mission to save her people, the audience will be impressed with both performers and puppetry.

A 15-foot puppet pulls double duty for the characters of Te Kā (the villain) and Te Fiti (seen in the photo above).

My favorite moment in the show was watching Maui’s tattoos do a song and dance number on the stage.

Celebrating the Disney stage 🎭

Once Upon A Stage: 30 Years of Disney on Broadway. (Disney Parks)

When “Beauty and the Beast” opened on Broadway in 1994, it set the stage for future productions.

For the 2025 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, Disney will pay tribute to 30 years of Disney on Broadway with a showcase dedicated to “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King.”

It’ll be in the newly built CommuniCore Hall.

Festival-wise, we know the lineup for the Broadway Concert series. Disney said it will announce food studios in the days to come.

SeaWorld Orlando

3...2...1... 🕛🍾

(SeaWorld Orlando)

New Year’s Eve planning seems to be loose but if you’re looking for a date night out or one with the family, consider SeaWorld.

The park’s Dec. 31 celebration will full of awe and fun as the park rings in 2025 with music, fireworks and thrills.

I also love the thought of counting down to midnight with Count von Count in Sesame Street Land.

Epic Universe

The first Epic countdown 💫

Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort, two hotels for Epic Universe. (Copyright 2024 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

As 2024 winds down, I think about what’s on the horizon for 2025.

To see that I got my first Epic Universe-related preview opening invite in my inbox this week elated me.

One half of the Universal and Loews’ sister hotels, Stella Nova Resort, will tie into the whole Universal Epic Universe storyline.

Stella Nova’s opening on Jan. 21 is a big deal because it will be our first taste of this otherworldly era of Universal theme parks.

Click here for some background info on the hotels. Trooper Steve on Patrol also did a couple Epic Universe ride-alongs this year, one of them in which Results-1 was flanked by the Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort.

Feel free to keep me in the loop on all things theme parks, cruises and holiday offerings through my email or reach out to me on my X or Instagram.

See you next week!
