ORLANDO, Fla. – This week on “Black Men Sundays,” host Corie Murray interviews Bank of America Lending Market Leader Vice President John Javier, NMLS ID: 291135.
It’s tough out there for new home buyers. Javier acknowledges this, telling Corie that while we do live in a world where we’re coming out of a pandemic that rocked global economies, much research is underway at Bank of America in order to correct a widespread lack of education and understanding, largely with regard to one simple question: How can I afford to buy a new home?

However, simple questions fit best with simple answers. For some of Javier’s advice, though you may be scared to go into the home buying process yourself, you shouldn’t be afraid to get some help from a trustworthy professional.
“Many people, they are afraid,” Javier said. “They don’t have the knowledge, they might feel that they don’t have the guidance, they don’t have somebody to hold their hands, maybe they don’t trust the people around them; and the theories out there, they’re only hearing (about) high interest rates, higher volumes of the properties, people from outside the state buying in cash, and that competition.”
