ORLANDO, Fla. – A recent college commit adds to the standard that is Jones High School, one of the premier football programs in Central Florida.
Vernell Brown III, a star senior wide receiver, recently announced his intent to play for the University of Florida. Playing for the Gators was a natural decision for the Gainesville native.
“I felt like the University [of Florida] put me in the best position to be successful,” Brown III told News 6, “not only on the field but off the field and in life as well. And it’s my family’s legacy; it just adds that much more to it.”
Brown III will be adding to his family legacy in the Swamp. It’s a place where his dad, grandad and some of his uncles played.
“It means the world; it’s that much pride when you step on the field on Saturdays. You play for more than just a university.”
