ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF football held its weekly press conference on Monday, previewing the upcoming game against Colorado.
Head Coach Gus Malzahn, running back RJ Harvey and defensive back Quadric Bullard spoke at the news conference.
“Watched them Saturday night. Real impressive win, the way they won,” Malzahn said. “They’ve got playmakers. I think it starts with their quarterback. He does a good job of throwing the ball vertically down the field. He can extend plays. That’s been very impressive, throwing to his right and his left.”
“Big Noon Kickoff,” the college football pregame show on FOX, will have a live broadcast from Orlando this Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. It is the first time the show will broadcast from UCF. The show includes analysis of various games and special guest appearances.
Head Coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders is in his second season coaching Colorado. The team includes his sons, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders, along with star two-way player Travis Hunter, who lines up at wide receiver and cornerback.
Colorado is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play, the team’s first season back in the Big 12. The Buffaloes are coming off a 38-31 OT thriller over Baylor last Saturday.
UCF is currently 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play. The Knights defeated TCU 35-34 on Sept. 14, and are coming off a bye week. UCF is in its second season in the Big 12.
Malzahn said the bye was good for UCF to give the team space to prepare for Colorado, but the team knows they have a task ahead of them on Saturday.
“Last week was really good. Like I said, we were able to focus on us, and there was a lot of areas that we had to clean up and improve on, really, in all three phases,” Malzahn said. “So we did that. We also worked on developing some of our younger guys, you know, to be ready, and then, you know, an extra day or two against an opponent like this is definitely good.”
The game is sold out and has been a game fans have looked forward to since the schedule released.
