ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF legend Shaquem Griffin will be hosting a special combine for many different sports this Saturday at the UCF Nicholson Fieldhouse.
The combine is called “The Search for Greatness,” modeled after the NFL Combine with the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, agility drills and more.
The combine is not just for football players. It’s for athletes from over two dozen Olympic sports, male and female. The athletes are in their late teens to mid-20s and have been preselected.
Griffin, a recent inductee into the UCF Hall of Fame, wants to give these athletes more exposure to scouts, some who will be present at the combine.

“The NFL Combine is not the only place where you can see these freak athletes,” Griffin told News 6. “Somebody that‘s jumping super high, someone that‘s running super fast. Now, we’re opening the door for anybody to be a part of that.”
The idea came from fellow former Knight Joey Grant.
“Each athlete that comes through the combine, they’ll have video recordings,” Grant told News 6. “Their times will be shared with all of our network of thousands of coaches and scouts. We will have the in-person presence of the scout, but then also this will live far beyond just this event.”
