News 6′s Justin Warmoth gets haircut from father of Lake Mary All-Star

Lake Mary plays Texas on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

WILLIAMSPORT, Penn. – When covering the Lake Mary All-Stars at the Little League World Series, you gotta keep that drip.

News 6′s Justin Warmoth is in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to cover the World Series as the All-Stars earned a place in the U.S. Championship on Thursday evening.

But after spending over a week out of Florida, Warmoth was getting a bit shaggy. And that’s where the team’s family came in.

Victor Mieses — the father of Lake Mary player D.J. Mieses — just so happens to be a barber, and he offered to give both Warmoth and News 6 photojournalist Daniel Macaluso a trim.

“I was talking to him about it, and he says, ‘Listen, I got you. I have my clippers. I’ll take care of you. I’ll take care of Daniel,’” Warmoth said on Friday. “And so, we went over to his Airbnb in a nice part of Williamsport so he could take care of us.”

During the haircut, Victor Mieses remarked on his son’s performance at one of the World Series games.

“To see it, it’s surreal. When you have the moment, the crowd, the intensity of the moment, y’know?” he said. “It’s perfect. And he was going through a little slump. I told him, ‘Keep swinging.’”

D.J. Mieses and the rest of the Lake Mary team are set to take on Texas in a rematch during the U.S. Championship on Saturday. That game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
