ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Central Florida has a project planned for its athletic facilities with an on-campus athletic village.
The vision is to create a top-25 nationally competitive athletics program in Central Florida.
UCF alumnus Kenneth G. Dixon donated the largest gift that the university has ever received.
Dixon donated more than $5 million to build the facility.
UCF athletics is seeking approximately $25 million in charitable gift commitments to fulfill its vision. As of Friday, more than $10 million has been committed to the facilities.
UCF has decided to name the facility the Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village and said it is committed to making the it the best of its kind in collegiate athletics.
Its goal is to recruit and retain championship caliber coaches and athletes.
Enhancements include football operations expansion, a track & field/soccer complex, baseball expansion, basketball excellence center, UCF student-athlete recovery cove, and video boards at various sports
complexes.
