ORLANDO, Fla. – Allison McGinley, a seasoned leader in the media industry, is set to embark on a new chapter as she transitions from her role as News Director at News 6 to join the University of Central Florida (UCF) Advancement and Partnerships division.

McGinley will assume the position of Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, where she will leverage her extensive experience to foster partnerships and drive strategic initiatives.

During her tenure at News 6, McGinley has been instrumental in shaping the newsroom’s direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality journalism. Her leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on the station and its audience.

McGinley started with WKMG News 6 as an intern in 1994. From intern to news director, Allison has served the Central Florida community through a variety of roles at the station.

“For the near decade I have been News Director, our mission at WKMG has been to be of service, highlight solutions and Get Results for Central Florida. Now I will trade in my journalist’s hat for an opportunity to roll up my sleeves and do my part to directly engage in creating solutions and results. I will be joining the UCF Advancement and Partnerships division as the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. I will connect students and innovative educators with corporations and foundations who will help their visions become reality. I am excited to go back to my alma mater, and in a way, give back for all they gave to me as a student so many years ago. I am incredibly grateful to everyone at WKMG and Graham Media. It has been a privilege to work for such an esteemed company for so many years.”

Jeff Hoffman, General Manager of News 6, expressed his gratitude for McGinley’s contributions and wished her success in her new role.

“Over the past 30 years at WKMG, Allison has built a remarkable legacy of award-winning journalism, innovation and teamwork that few in our industry ever have the privilege of experiencing,” Hoffman said.

McGinley was inducted into the UCF Hall of Fame in 2022.
