Emmy Award Winning Meteorologist Samara Cokinos joined the News 6 team in September 2017.
As a Central Florida native, she grew up in Pierson on a fern farm.
Cokinos comes to us from KRGV-TV Channel 5 news, but she is no stranger to News 6. In summer of 2012 she was an intern for WKMG in the production and weather department.
Cokinos attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Meteorology in 2012. She is currently a masters student there working toward a degree in Aeronautical Science, focusing in flight safety and space studies.
In her free time, she loves running and being outside. Cokinos admits South Texas had awesome food and that she made great friends there, but it's an incredible feeling to be at home doing what she loves near her family and friends.
