SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream returns with a host of new horrors

Event features new houses, scare zones and more

ORLANDO, Fla. – SeaWorld Orlando on Wednesday announced the introduction of new exciting elements to the park’s Howl-O-Scream celebration this year.

Officials unveiled that the enthralling event would feature four all-new haunted houses, along with three never-before-seen scare zones, two new immersive blood-chilling bars, and four heart-dropping coasters.

SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream received USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for the Best Theme Park Halloween Event in 2023 and the excitement has only just begun as this year’s lineup promises to awaken more fear and fun than ever before.

“It’s year four, and we’re back with more new, more than ever, said Kyle Smith, Manager of Creative Show Operations at SeaWorld Orlando. “We have four entirely brand new houses this year, three brand new scare zones, and two new themed entertainment bars. It’s one killer event that you cannot miss in Central Florida.”

From deadly gambles with the highest of stakes to eerie, sunken cities, guests can explore a world where fear meets fantasy, encountering haunts at every corner.

Haunted Houses

  • Farm 51 (New): You stumble on an abandoned farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. The air is thick with dread, and the silence is broken only by the eerie rustling of the cornfields. Suddenly, you realize you’re not alone. The chilling whispers of extraterrestrial visitors echo in the darkness. They’ve crash-landed, and they’re not friendly.
  • D3LER1UM666: You’re invited inside the headquarters of a unique mercenary group, established by the government to counter the threat posed by the Sirens and other dangerous sea creatures. While these creatures are typically unseen in human-occupied territories, recent attacks on humans at the surface necessitate a swift resolution. We’ve allowed the public to tour the recently expanded facility to gain support and understanding for the cause, but you will not be alone in your journey.
  • Ultimate Gamble (New): Welcome to “The Ultimate Gamble,” where the stakes are life and death, and every step could be your last. This house offers a chilling blend of high-stakes thrills and ghastly terror. Will you beat the odds and escape with your life, or will you become just another ghostly patron trapped in the casino’s eternal game? Face your fears and place your bets at “The Ultimate Gamble,” where the house always wins.
  • Water’s Edge Wellness Center (New): Nestled at the edge of the misty, foreboding Central Lake, the Water’s Edge Wellness Center once promised serenity and rejuvenation. Today, it stands as a chilling reminder of a past shrouded in mystery and dark secrets. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey into the macabre, where the line between the living and the dead is blurred, and the horrors of the past come to life. Will you escape unscathed, or will you become another lost soul within the haunted halls of the Water’s Edge Wellness Center?
  • Atlantis Journey Below (New): Step into the depths of the unknown with Atlantis: Journey Below. As you encounter the sunken city of Atlantis, you’ll find a realm shrouded in mystery and dark legends. Descend into the eerie underwater world where the air grows thick with anticipation and the haunting whispers of sinister sea creatures. Dare to explore “Atlantis: Journey Below” and experience the terror that lies beneath the waves.

Sinister Shows

  • Monster Stop: In the misty corners of Victorian-era London, a fiend known only as Jack the Ripper walks the streets. Watch him take the stage in a way you’ve never seen before in Monster Stomp, the modern rock and rhythm spectacular that’s as darkly entertaining as it is exhilarating.
  • Sirens Song: A mesmerizing performance where Sirens feast on your greatest fears.

Scare Zones

  • Seeds of the Coven (New): Will you escape the clutches of the witches and their horrific creations, or will you become just another part of their gruesome harvest?
  • Paradise Palms (New): At this seemingly abandoned motel, with its faded pastel paint and overgrown palms, you’ll uncover a chilling history beyond its weathered façade.
  • Cannibal Harbor (New): The inhabitants of Cannibal Harbor are no ordinary fishermen. Driven to madness by a sinister curse, these cannibalistic mariners now stalk the port in search of fresh prey.
  • Blood Light District: You can fight their beckoning, but you will not win. Do not be fooled by their beauty and lust. Stay too long and you will be forever bound by blood.
  • Toxic Turmoil: A toxic catastrophe has caused this hidden chemical landfill to be overcome by mutated creatures, humans, and plant life.
  • Terrors of the Deep: Out of the dark depths you will encounter a beautiful sunken village filled with remnants and treasures from the surface.
  • CarnEvil Pier: The freaks, sinister Barkers, and demented clowns that inhabit the Carn-Evil Pier welcome you to stay a while. Have a drink and a snack.

Howl-O-Scream will take place on select nights from Sept. 6 to Nov. 2. The final two weeks of October, Howl-O-Scream will run Thursday-Sunday.

On Friday, Sept. 13, the park will host the inaugural Howl-O-Sprint 5k Run, where guests can run through the park at night on a course equipped with excitement and scares.
