LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – For artist Nicole Salgar, art is life and she’s been passionate about it ever since she was young.
“I’ve always loved being creative ever since I was a little girl that’s how I kinda got my energy out it was something I’ve always been interested in,” Salgar said.
Salgar spoke to students with the Osceola County School of the Arts as part of Hispanic Heritage Month at Disney Springs.
Her family is from Cuba and Colombia and said those two cultures have strongly influenced her career.
“I think what helped me develop my style was traveling and meeting different people, learning about different cultures,” she said.
Salgar got the opportunity to share her talent at Disney Springs’ Art Walk - A Canvas of Expression in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
She painted a mural called “Viajes despierto,” which means “awaken journey,” and explained the painting is more than just about colors, it’s about taking a moment to disconnect yourself from your busy life.
“I just think that it’s so amazing that they are giving these different cultures a voice to the public in Disney Springs like I think that’s absolutely incredible and I’m just really grateful to be a part of it,” Salgar explained.
