Officers in Cooper City had to tap into their roping skills after a bull got loose and started running up and down residential streets. Police say one officer tried to use a rope to lasso the animal, but it didnt work. Authorities were eventually forced to call a professional for help. Its unclear who owns the bull or how it got loose.

A retired Miami firefighter died in a South Florida house fire on Sunday afternoon, Broward Sheriff's officials said. The fire broke out around 1:45 p.m. in Cooper City, which is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. Fire Chief Michael Cane said the home was already engulfed in flames when crews arrived. A neighbor had pulled the man from the home and covered him with a tarp before firefighters arrived, Kane said. It pulls on your heartstrings, because he fell victim to a fire, the same thing hes been fighting for his entire career, Kane told the South Florida SunSentinel.

The two were approaching the restaurant drive-thru at 10260 Griffin Road when their vehicle was swallowed by a small sinkhole in the parking lot. The woman and 4-year-old boy were uninjured and able to escape the vehicle. Pictures showed the front left side of the SUV almost fully engulfed in the hole.
