For National Dessert Day and Halloween, the owners of Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream and Parlor Kitchen decided to collaborate to make limited-edition treats inspired by Parlor Kitchen’s specialty — cookie-stuffed waffles.

National Ice Cream Day is July 21, and there are several shops across Orlando offering free or discounted treats in honor of the holiday.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas – A 24-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail for posting on social media a video last August of himself removing an ice cream container from a Texas market freezer, licking the contents and returning the container to the freezer. Anderson began serving his jail term immediately after sentencing. The incident happened Aug. 26 at a Walmart in Port Arthur. Store surveillance cameras showed that he finally took the Blue Bell ice cream from the freezer and bought it, which wasn't captured in the social media video, authorities said. Port Arthur is about 85 miles east of Houston.

The ice cream company announced in a news release the new flavor is Cookie Dough Overload, which combines three cookie dough flavors in one. Your scoop will include vanilla ice cream with hints of brown sugar, loaded with chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough and fudge cookie dough pieces. “Cookie dough is a popular mix-in for ice cream.
