Police said Rebolledo told them she has repeatedly tried to correct her son's behavior "by using other methods of punishment, to no avail." "Maybe in Colombia it's okay to take a child and place their hand on a burning stove, but in the United States it's not. The judge also told Rebolledo that her son now has to suffer the consequences of her actions by being placed into foster care.

Brandy Lerma, 31, of Boynton Beach, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence and child neglect. When deputies arrived, they found Lerma sitting in the driver's seat with a toddler standing in the back seat, the report said. The arresting deputy wrote in his report that he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Lerma's breath. Lerma told deputies that she had two Fireball shots and had taken Percocet and Xanax.

Diaz told police that, because of recent attacks on government officials, he was in fear for his life and the safety of his family. St. Felix was being held on a $500,000 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Deputies said there was a bottle of vodka in the front passenger's seat that was only about two-thirds full. Hernandez claimed that she picked up the toddler about noon without having slept to go to a birthday party.

Amber Warner, 31, approached a couple as they were leaving the Kountry Kitchen in Vero Beach and tried to get them to take her son, who she was carrying, Vero Beach police said. Warner told the couple, "I can't do it," and then put the boy on the ground before driving away in a black truck, police said. Warner faces charges of unlawful desertion of a child and resisting arrest without violence. Her 2-year-old son appeared to be in good health and was placed in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

According to a Miami-Dade police report, police were alerted about a man with green hair and tattoos on his face standing at the corner of Southwest 104th Street and Hammocks Boulevard, pointing a gun at passing vehicles. When the officer asked the man, later identified as Sullivan, if he was armed, Sullivan said he had a gun in his pocket, police said. Lawrence Sullivan's green hair and facial tattoos are reminiscent of Batman's nemesis the Joker. Among the man's face tattoos are the words "Joker" stenciled across his forehead, next to a Batman logo with profanity scribbled within it.

Jupiter police said they found Hardister sleeping with his head on the steering wheel of a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck Friday in the parking lot of a Walmart on Indiantown Road. Police said the truck, which had extensive front-end damage, was reported stolen from Port St. Lucie. Hardister said he was "trying to catch a couple of hours of sleep in the parking lot before going to work," but he didn't know that the truck was stolen. When the officer asked Hardister about the damage to the front of the truck, Hardister said he didn't know how it happened, the report said.
