Safety advocates across Central Florida are teaming up with law enforcement this week to crackdown on drivers who fail to yield and stop for pedestrians in marked crosswalks.

ORLANDO, Fla. Law enforcement in Central Florida will team up Tuesday to improve pedestrian safety. The Osceola County Sheriffs Office, Orlando Police Department and Longwood Police Department will take part in Operation Best Foot Forward. Deputies and officers will be stationed at seven crosswalks across the area looking for drivers not following the rules. Drivers who fail to stop for pedestrians could receive a warning or a ticket.
